Note: full grain leather is a natural material, which may have small traces, veins or marks inherent to the material. Scratches can be easily removed by lightly rubbing them with a cloth impregnated with vegetable oil. The color of the leather might slightly varies depending on the batches.

Oil immersed leather products can be prone by nature to colour transference on light fabrics. To avoid that, please make sure to dry your leather if it gets wet and try avoid contact with light coloured fabrics. If you however notice some stains, don't worry, it come out in the wash.

How much fits in the Santiago?

If your trips are more often two or three days than two or three weeks, the smaller ROSARIO leather holdall carries the same spirit in a shorter format.

Does it hold a laptop?

Yes. A padded laptop sleeve closes with a velcro strap, so your computer travels wedged safely in the middle of your clothes instead of rattling around the main space.

Do you carry it by hand or on the shoulder?

Both, as the day demands. The Santiago offers a double reinforced leather handle and an adjustable, removable shoulder strap. Switching from one carry to the other takes a few seconds.

Is the leather waterproof?

It is water resistant, not waterproof. Full grain cow leather sheds rain and splashes on its own, but if the bag gets soaked, let it dry before storing it, and keep damp leather away from light coloured fabrics: oil immersed leather can transfer colour.

Can I set it down on rough ground?

Yes, that is what the 5 protective rivets under the bag are for. Station platforms, pavements and gravel are exactly the repeated friction they were added to absorb, so the base of the leather stays off the surface.

Who is the Santiago not for?

If you count every gram or haul wet sports gear, a technical fabric duffel such as the Sandqvist Stream Weekender will serve you better. The Santiago is 2.4 kg of full grain leather empty: a bag that takes marks and turns them into patina, not one that disappears on the scale.

How do I care for the leather?

Very little is needed. Rub light scratches with a cloth impregnated with vegetable oil and they fade into the grain. If the bag gets wet, let it dry away from direct heat before storing it. Like every bag we make, the Santiago is covered by our 2-year warranty.
