Db Journey Snow Pro Backpack 32L - Ski Pack for Long Days, Rope and Camera (1.53 kg)
Last light on the ridge, the others already clicking into their bindings, and you still have the camera out. On the Db Journey Snow Pro Backpack 32L, body and lenses travel in a Ramverk Camera Insert, sold separately, inside the main compartment and reached through the back panel. Putting everything away takes one zip, not a full unpack in the snow while the group waits below.
The seven extra litres give the main body room for a helmet, a harness and a rope for a winter route, or a stove, spare clothes and a down jacket for a long tour. The pack stands between 54 and 60 cm tall depending on how far you roll the top.
For the descent, the detachable hip belt and chest strap lock the pack in so it moves less, and the belt pocket holds keys, a lift pass or spare SD cards. Underneath, Db's patented Rib Cage Construction keeps the shape, over a moulded EVA back panel. The shell is 100% recycled polyamide, and the pack weighs 1.53 kg.
Who is it for?
Photographers, winter climbers and ski tourers on long days: a traverse from one valley to the next, a winter route with rope and two axes, an afternoon spent waiting for the light. If one ski backpack has to carry the avalanche kit, the technical gear and a camera without making you choose between them, this is the size.
A Place for the Camera, the Rope and the Avalanche Kit
On a long day, a ski backpack gets opened more often and loaded more unevenly than on a quick tour. The Snow Pro 32L is organised around that, down to the small things you reach for on the move.
- ✔️ Camera insert compatible: Db's Ramverk inserts, size S or M, sold separately, fit the main body and open from the back.
- ✔️ Detachable hip belt and chest strap: lock the pack in for the descent, with a belt pocket sized for SD cards.
- ✔️ Detachable goggle pocket: attaches inside or outside the pack, and comes with a lens wipe.
- ✔️ Front avalanche compartment: shovel, probe and glacier tools stay apart, with a drainage hole against ice.
- ✔️ Rope and ice axe carry: two auto-cinching axe holders, and a rope attachment that works inside or outside.
- ✔️ Roll-top from 54 to 60 cm: compressed on the climb, extended for a helmet inside or for travel.
Skis go on in an A-frame, a snowboard straps vertically to the front, and the structured frame carries either without collapsing, even half full. A front sheath holds the snow saw, a side pocket takes the map, and the plastic buckles work with gloves on. On the way to the mountain, the Hook-Up load adjusters clip the pack onto a Db roller bag.
Who This Pack Is For
The Snow Pro 32L is for people whose days in the mountains run long, and whose kit no longer fits neatly into a 25-litre pack.
- You photograph in the mountains and want the camera protected, yet one zip away from the shot.
- You climb in winter with a helmet, a harness, a rope and two axes, sometimes all on the same day.
- You link valleys on skis and need room for a stove, a spare layer and more food than a half day asks for.
- You ride a snowboard or splitboard and want the board carried on a frame that stays upright.
- You fly to ski and want a pack that opens up for travel, with passport and plane tickets in the quick-access side pocket.
The honest limit is bulk: at 1.53 kg, it is more pack than a short off-piste lap needs.
For those days, the Snow Pro Backpack 25L keeps the same back access and avalanche compartment in a slimmer 16 cm body, and the Backcountry Backpack 25L goes plainer still, with a top-loading main compartment. Both sit in the Db Journey range. The 32L is the one you pack the night before a big day, and then stop thinking about.

FAQ
Yes, with a Db insert. The main body takes the Ramverk Camera Insert S or M, sold separately: Db makes them, and they are not yet stocked at Eiken. The insert sits in the main compartment and you reach it through the back opening, so the camera comes out without emptying the pack. The avalanche kit stays in its own front compartment, away from the glass.
Not if the day is long or technical. The roll-top brings the pack down from 60 to 54 cm when it is not full, and the frame keeps the shape so a half-empty load does not slump. For a short tour with just the avalanche kit and a layer, the Snow Pro 25L is slimmer and sits closer to your back.
Yes. Two auto-cinching ice axe carries sit on the front, and the rope attachment works in two ways: tucked inside the main compartment, or strapped over the top, pack-horse style, when you need the room inside. The main body also takes a helmet and a harness.
Db describes the exterior as weather resistant, meaning it holds off light rain and daily wear. It is not sold as waterproof, and the back opening is one more zip for water to find in a downpour, so in sustained rain the insert goes inside a dry bag. For snow and a passing shower, the shell is enough on its own.
Db lists no bladder sleeve or hose port on the Snow Pro, so we don't promise one. If you'd rather drink on the move, the Backcountry Backpack 25L has a bladder sleeve with a hose port.
The Snow Pro 25L (1.4 kg, 16 cm deep) is the slim pack for one touring day, in a 420D ripstop shell. The 32L (32 L, 1.53 kg) is the long-day version: a detachable goggle pocket, room for the S or M camera insert (sold separately), and space for climbing gear. Both share the back access, the avalanche compartment and the axe carries.
Take the camera insert out first, then empty the avalanche compartment and brush off the snow. Wipe the fabric with lukewarm water and a soft cloth, without a washing machine or a tumble dryer. Let the pack dry open, roll-top unrolled and back panel unzipped, away from a radiator, and dry the insert separately before putting the camera back.
