Oil immersed leather products can be prone by nature to colour transference on light fabrics. To avoid that, please make sure to dry your leather if it gets wet and try avoid contact with light coloured fabrics. If you however notice some stains, don't worry, it come out in the wash.

Can I hike with it?

For day walks and travel on foot, yes: the drawstring and flap keep the main space closed on the move, and the padded straps carry the load. It has no hip belt or technical harness, so for long mountain days with serious weight it is the wrong tool.
