Klättermusen · Gyme Backpack 35L
Gyme 35L: the shovel up front, the skis on the side, a night in a hut.
The Gyme 35L carries over everything from the Gyme 25L: the shovel and probe kept apart up front, the skis strapped to the sides, the helmet and skins on top, the back panel flat against you. It adds ten litres for the warm layer, a light rope or the kit for a night in a hut.
The start before dawn, the col, the descent, and sometimes the hut.
The name is thought to come from Gymir, a giant of the Edda and father of Gerd. From the Edda.

In the rain · over 10,000 mm
The fabric holds wet snow and proper rain.
Lightly water repellent
300 mm
Drizzle, or brushing past wet branches.
Shower
1,500 mm
A shower on the trail or in town.
Waterproof fabric
10,000 mm and above
Proper rain: the fabric holds, the seams are not taped.
Waterproof
taped seams
Waterproof according to Klättermusen: seams covered with tape.
Wet snow and proper rain, yes: the top lid even has taped seams. The zips and the other seams let water through in the end: for a night in a hut, the sleeping bag and spare clothes go in a dry bag.
What clips onto it
One more pocket, same bag.

Algir Foldover
The pouch attaches to this bag's loop webbing: map and phone up front.

Eldner 2.0 2L
The hip pack attaches to packs of 30 litres and up: bar and wax without taking the pack off.

Eiken's take
- Our pick
- It is the Gyme 25L with ten more litres for 70 g: room for a down jacket, a light rope or a night in a hut, on the same back system.
- Worth knowing
- The recommended load stays at 10 kg, as on the 25 L: the extra ten litres are for bulk, not for carrying heavier. And it is not an airbag pack.
- Who it's for
- Outings that end at the hut: ski tourers and winter mountaineers who bring the extra layer.

Questions
What about rain?
Proper rain, yes: the fabric holds over 10,000 mm of water. The seams are not taped: in a storm, a rain cover still helps.
Does it take more load than the 25 L?
No: the recommended load is 10 kg for both. The 35 L is for carrying bulkier, not heavier.
Is it an airbag pack?
No. It keeps the shovel and probe apart, but it has no airbag system.
What back length?
47 to 52 cm, fixed back panel. If you are unsure, you have 30 days to try it at home, loaded.
Care
Hand wash at up to 40 °C with a mild soap. No bleach, no tumble dryer, no iron, no dry cleaning.
