Waka Canvas Care Wax
Protect, revive and extend the life of your canvas bags

The Waka Canvas Care Wax is a simple, effective way to give your canvas bags a longer, tougher and better-looking life. Made with beeswax and paraffin, it helps protect the fabric, revive its finish and improve resistance against light rain, splashes and everyday wear.

Use it to maintain a waxed canvas bag, refresh a dry-looking fabric, or wax a classic cotton canvas backpack for a more rugged, weather-ready and adventure-inspired finish.

Once applied, WAKA creates a thin protective layer over the fabric fibers. Water beads more easily on the surface, the canvas feels sturdier, and your bag keeps that timeless, trail-ready character we love at Eiken.

Good to know: this wax improves the water-repellent finish of the fabric, but it does not turn a regular backpack into a fully waterproof dry bag. Seams, zippers and openings can still let water in.

How to apply WAKA canvas wax

  1. Clean the fabric with a soft brush or a slightly damp cloth, then let it dry.
  2. Gently warm the wax and/or the canvas with a hair dryer for a few seconds.
  3. Rub the wax directly onto the areas you want to treat, especially the bottom, corners and high-friction zones.
  4. Heat the canvas again to help the wax spread and penetrate the fibers more evenly.
  5. Let it dry for several hours before use, ideally overnight.

Frequently Asked Questions

+

No. It improves the water-repellent finish of the fabric and helps water bead on the surface, but it does not fully waterproof seams, zippers or openings.

+

Yes. WAKA is perfect for refreshing a waxed canvas bag that has lost some protection over time, after friction, daily use or rainy adventures.

+

It depends on how often you use your bag. For daily use, apply it occasionally whenever the canvas starts to look dry, less water-repellent or more worn.

+

This wax is mainly designed for cotton canvas, canvas fabric and waxed canvas. Avoid using it on suede, nubuck, technical synthetic fabrics or delicate surfaces without testing it first on a hidden area.

+

It is blended for cotton canvas, canvas fabric and waxed canvas: the fabrics of our canvas backpacks and canvas duffle bags. On leather trim, metal hardware or technical fabrics, keep it away or test a hidden corner first.

+

Clean the canvas with a soft brush, then warm the bar for a few seconds with a hair dryer. Rub the wax straight onto the fabric: on a daily pack like our Lund roll top backpack, the bottom, the corners and the high-friction zones work hardest, so give them an extra pass. Heat the canvas again so the wax spreads into the fibers, and let the bag dry overnight before you head out.
