Two Velcro straps hold it on the rear luggage rack; when you arrive, you pull the shoulder straps out of the back pocket and it carries like a real backpack. Inside, a laptop up to 15 inches, and the roll-top to set the volume.

Mero Mero, from Annecy to Vietnam.

Born in Annecy

Mero Mero is a French brand, born between lake and mountains. Its first bag, a messenger bag, was inspired by two children, Clémence and Léon. The brand is a member of 1% for the Planet and gives 1% of its turnover to environmental organisations.

Sewn in Vietnam

Since late 2018, manufacturing has been in Vietnam, with a partner specialised in technical stitching: paragliding canopies, harnesses, backpacks. The factory is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified and passes the WRAP audit every year.

Repaired in France

The brand plans for repair from the design stage and works with workshops in France, in Annecy and Lyon.

Questions

Annecy or Wanaka?

The volume, the pockets and the laptop compartment are the same. The Annecy has two Velcro straps to fix it to a bike's luggage rack; the Wanaka has a 3D mesh back instead, and does not fix to a bike.

Is the Annecy waterproof?

No. The fabric is PU-coated (1000 mm) and water-repellent, PFC-free: a shower will not get through. For steady rain, Mero Mero makes a rain cover with sealed seams, sold separately.

How does it fix to the luggage rack?

With two Velcro straps of 5 by 16 cm, 8 cm apart, at the bottom of the back panel, on a rear luggage rack. The shoulder straps stow in the back pocket during the ride.

What are its dimensions as carry-on luggage?
