Deuter · Amager 25+5
Roll-top rolled down, 15-inch laptop on your back: let it pour.
The rain always comes somewhere between home and the office. Once the roll-top is rolled and closed, the Amager is waterproof against rain and splashing water (IPX4 standard): TPU-coated fabric, taped seams, coated zips. Inside, the 15-inch laptop travels in a padded sleeve; outside, the Airstripes back lets air through and the pack stays close to your body on the corners.

Laptop
A 15-inch laptop in a padded sleeve, which comes out with the organiser.
Laptop, tablet and documents sit in an organiser that zips into the pack, with a padded sleeve for a 15-inch laptop. At the office, you unzip it and put it on the desk, without emptying the rest.
15 inches
Padded sleeve in a removable organiser, laptops up to 15 inches.

What fits inside
25+5 L
25 litres, and 5 more if you roll the top less.
The top rolls down and buckles: the less you roll it, the more room the pack has, up to 5 litres more, enough to slip in a change of clothes for going out after work. An inside pocket keeps keys and wallet; on the side, a zipped pocket takes your phone.
- A 15-inch laptop, a tablet and documents, in the organiser
- A change of clothes, in the 5 litres of the roll-top
- Your phone, in the zipped side pocket
In the rain
Rolled and buckled, it's waterproof against rain and splashes.
Not made for rain
No rain protection
In steady rain, water gets in through the seams and zips: anything that mustn't get wet goes in a pouch.
Water-repellent
Water-repellent main fabric
Water beads up on the fabric. In steady rain, it eventually gets through at the seams and zips.
Cover included
A rain cover comes with the pack
In a downpour, the pack goes under its cover. Without it, water eventually gets in through the seams and zips.
IPX4, once closed
Coated fabric, taped seams
420D polyamide fabric coated with TPU, taped seams, TPU-coated zips: once the roll-top is properly rolled and closed, the pack is waterproof against rain and splashing water (IPX4 standard), organiser and laptop included.
This bag
Waterproof once the roll-top is rolled and closed, against rain and splashes (IPX4), not immersion; with the roll-top open, that protection is gone.
For the city
A jacket or a helmet on the front, your phone on the side.

The back system
A back that lets the air through, hip fins you can stow in town.
- AirstripesPads separated by ventilation channels, under an Air Spacer mesh: air flows along your back, over 80% of its surface.
- Shoulder straps and hip beltPadded and perforated; the mesh hip fins tuck away when you don't want them.
- Sternum strapContinuously adjustable, it keeps the load close to your body when you turn or overtake.
- ReflectorsSo you're seen as night falls.

Colours
Plum brown or sand yellow.

Dune

Deuter
Augsburg, 1898: mailbags first, then backpacks.
Hans Deuter opens a canvas workshop in Augsburg, Bavaria, and is soon sewing mailbags for the Royal Bavarian Post. In 1938, the first ascent of the Eiger North Face is made with a Deuter pack on the climber's back.
In 1984 came Aircomfort, a tensioned mesh that holds the pack away from your back. The Futura series took it up in 1999, and the Futura Pro carries it today.
Deuter guarantees its packs for 2 years against defects in materials and workmanship, on top of the legal guarantee, then repairs them at a shared cost. For a pack bought from Eiken, the claim goes through us.
Eiken's take
- Why we chose it
- With the roll-top closed it's waterproof in a downpour (IPX4), the laptop travels in a padded sleeve and the back lets the air through: the three headaches of commuting by bike, sorted in one pack.
- Worth knowing
- 48 cm tall and 970 g: bigger and heavier than a city backpack, that's the price of the protection.
- Who it's for
- Anyone who cycles to the office, even when it rains, with a laptop on their back.
Baptiste, Eiken

Questions
What are the dimensions and weight of the Amager 25+5?
48 × 30 × 18 cm (height, width, depth, pack full) and 970 g, for 25 litres, or 30 with the roll-top unrolled. Recommended load: 4 to 7 kg.
Is the Amager 25+5 waterproof?
Yes, once the roll-top is rolled and closed: TPU-coated fabric, taped seams and coated zips make it waterproof against rain and splashing water, to the IPX4 standard. IPX4 covers rain and splashes, not immersion.
Which laptop fits in the Amager 25+5?
A laptop up to 15 inches, in the organiser's padded sleeve. The organiser zips inside the pack and comes out in one piece, with the tablet and documents.
Can the Amager 25+5 go in the cabin?
As a cabin bag, yes: at 48 × 30 × 18 cm it fits the usual 55 × 40 × 20 cm limit. Under the seat, no: it's too tall for easyJet's small bag (45 cm) as well as Ryanair's (40 cm). Size limits checked in October 2026: check with your airline.
Can you attach a helmet to the Amager 25+5?
Yes: buckles take a helmet holder, sold separately. The front straps also hold a rolled-up jacket.
