Lund Sleek – The Roll Top Waterproof Backpack Built for City Adventures
Most rolltop backpacks promise weatherproof. Most fail on the first November downpour — the textile soaks at the seams, the rain creeps inside, and the 16" MacBook ends up in a damp sleeve.
The Lund Sleek by Kapten & Son ends that argument. Same expandable 16-18 L roll-top architecture, same padded laptop compartment as the original Lund Pro — wrapped in a full PU coated shell that rain literally beads off. No more swapping to a rain cover. No more weather forecasts at 7 a.m.
Who actually carries it
Cyclists who refuse to switch to panniers. Photo-day freelancers between studios. Weekend trippers who pack light and hop on a Friday train. If your bag is on your back five days a week and you're done caring about the sky, the Lund Sleek waterproof roll top backpack is the drop.
Need the textile original instead? See the Lund Pro Backpack. Smaller daily? Fyn Sleek. Office days? Bergen Pro Sleek.

What actually matters
- Truly rain-proof, not just water-resistant — full PU coated shell, water beads off the matte surface. No waxing, no reproofing spray, no canvas creep at the seams.
- One bag, 16 to 18 L on demand — one roll for office days, two for weekend trips. The base silhouette stays sharp at every volume.
- Padded for a 16" MacBook, no exception — 36 x 26 x 3 cm sleeve fits the latest MacBook Pro plus a charger and slim documents.
- Dual closure, dual security — internal zipper for theft-conscious commutes, external carabiner for fast-access weekends. You decide each morning.
- Designed in Berlin, built in Scandinavian minimalism — the same Lund silhouette Kapten & Son refined over years, now in a sleeker matte PU language.
Out the door, whatever the sky says
Vélotaf in Berlin in November, last-minute train to Amsterdam on a Friday evening, photo walk through a Lisbon that flips to thunderstorm in ten minutes — the idea of the Lund Sleek is that you stop choosing a bag by the forecast. You pick this one. You leave.
Not built for a kayak descent or a winter trek — for that, look elsewhere. Built for the city, the train, the rain that catches you between two metro stations.
Designed in Berlin by Kapten & Son. Limited release in All Black and Muted Rose only. Two colorways, while stocks last.

FAQ – Lund Sleek
How is the Sleek finish different from the textile Lund Pro?
The architecture is identical — same 16–18 L expandable roll-top, same magnetic buckle, same padded laptop sleeve. The Sleek edition swaps the textile shell for a full PU coating: water beads off instead of soaking, the surface wipes clean instead of needing waxing, and the look reads matte and uniform instead of woven.
Is the PU coating actually waterproof?
It's highly water-repellent. Heavy rain beads off the matte surface and never reaches the lining; the rolled-top closure adds a second seal at the opening. Not certified for full submersion — don't take it kayaking — but proven across full-day commutes in real European November weather.
How much does it actually carry?
Around 16 L when rolled tight (a 16" MacBook, charger, water bottle, T-shirt, sandwich), up to 18 L unrolled for an overnight (laptop, change of clothes, toiletries, small camera). The expansion is in the rolled fabric, not the base — the silhouette stays clean both ways.
Can I cycle with it?
Yes. The padded mesh back panel breathes, the chest strap stops the bag swinging at speed, and the PU shell handles light to moderate rain at cycling pace without wetting through. Pair it with a rear light for night commutes.
Will it fit under an airline seat as a personal item?
Rolled, the dimensions are 41 x 38 x 14 cm — well within personal-item allowances for major European airlines (easyJet, Ryanair small bag, Lufthansa, KLM). Unrolled it stays within the standard cabin allowance.
