The laptop comes out without opening the bag.

At airport security or on the train, the laptop comes out of the Helsinki without opening it: a 38 × 25 cm pocket on the back opens from the outside. Inside there is a second sleeve, padded and lined with micro-fleece, three lined pockets, one of them zipped, and a holder for the bottle. 17 litres, 46 cm tall, 1.1 kg: the lines of the Helsinki Pro, 6 cm shorter.

Does my 16-inch MacBook fit?

Yes. Kapten & Son rates the Helsinki for a 15.6-inch laptop or a 16-inch MacBook: a 16-inch goes in the padded inner sleeve (41 × 25 × 2 cm). The back pocket, 38 × 25 cm, opens from the outside and takes a tablet or a laptop up to 15 inches.

Is it rainproof?

The fabric is water-repellent, and so are the zips of the small and flat front pockets and of the back pocket: rain beads off on the way to work. It isn't made to be submerged.

Can it go in the cabin?

At 46 × 26.5 × 14 cm it fits the usual 55 × 40 × 20 cm and 55 × 35 × 25 cm cabin allowances. Under-seat allowances are often smaller: check your airline's.

Care

Lukewarm water and mild soap on a cotton cloth, then let it air-dry. Never in the washing machine, never with chemical cleaners.
