On Thursday evening, the Global Travel Backpack lies open flat on the bed, in two halves like a suitcase: three days' worth of clothes inside, the 15-inch in its own sleeve. On Friday, you slide it over the suitcase handle as far as the platform, then it heads off on its own for the day, water bottle in the side mesh pocket: 25 litres of water-repellent ripstop, 2 more when the expansion panel opens. Three days, not the week.

What fits inside

25 litres packed flat, and 2 more when the expansion panel opens.

The main compartment opens in two, like a suitcase: you pack each half flat, then zip it shut. A zipped expansion panel adds 2 litres when the bag is overflowing; zipped closed, it pulls the contents tight. The 15-inch has its own padded sleeve, and a stretch mesh pocket holds a water bottle on one side.
