Db Journey Ramverk Pro Backpack 32L - The Camera Backpack for the Whole Kit (1.54 kg)

The night before a shoot away from home, the kit takes over the kitchen table: two bodies, three lenses, two lights, batteries lined up on charge. Then all of it has to go into one bag and onto a plane. Db designed the Db Journey Ramverk Pro Backpack 32L for that kind of evening, and for the early flight that follows it.

It is the only backpack in the Db range that takes the Large Camera Insert, sold separately, the one Db calls its black hole for gear. Its face measures 50 x 31 cm, its depth 21 cm, and its 32 litres make room for an insert that swallows a full working kit.

The extra volume costs almost nothing on the scale: 1.54 kg, forty grams more than the 26L. The frame is the same Rib Cage Construction, ABS ribs concealed in the walls that keep the pack square and guard the glass, and the fabric is 100% recycled polyester, dope-dyed, on the outside and in the lining.

Who is it for?

Photographers and filmmakers on assignment who pack a spare of everything, and travellers who want a single camera backpack for a long weekend of work. Db rates it for trips of one to three days, the longest of any Ramverk. Without an insert, its 32 litres and suitcase opening make it a travel pack for those three days.

A Full Kit, Packed and Counted

Travelling with a full kit is mostly logistics: airports, taxis, a new room every night. The 32L is organised so the gear stays packed, protected and easy to count.

✔️ Large insert compatible: the only Db backpack that takes the Large insert, and the Small and Medium ones fit too, all sold separately.
✔️ Full clamshell opening: the pack lies open like a suitcase, so the whole kit is in view before you zip it shut.
✔️ Rib Cage Construction: ABS ribs in the walls hold the shape of the pack and put a shell around the lenses.
✔️ Hook-Up System: with the load adjusters, the pack clips onto any Db roller bag and rides through the terminal on wheels.
✔️ Detachable hip belt: takes the weight of a full kit off your shoulders, then comes off for a lighter day.
✔️ Front and side straps: a tripod, a board or a yoga mat on the front, a tripod or skis on the sides.

The large top pocket takes the passport, phone and headphones, so the main compartment stays closed until you reach the location. Inside, mesh pockets hold SD cards, cables, power banks and drives, and a padded 16" laptop compartment keeps the edit station with the cameras. A water bottle pocket sits on the outside.

Who This Pack Is For

The 32L is for people whose kit has outgrown a daily camera backpack, and who would rather carry it than check it.

Your kit no longer fits a Medium insert, and you want all of it in one bag.
You fly to shoots and want the camera gear on your back, not in the hold.
You work away for two or three days, and on some trips the insert stays home and clothes go in instead.
You shoot video and want the lights and a second body in the same bag.
You edit on the road, with a 16" laptop travelling alongside the cameras.

The only limit is size: framed and 21 cm deep, the 32L stays that size half empty. But the day your kit needs the Large insert, nothing else in the Db Journey range will carry it. Our other camera backpacks are built for lighter loads. This one is built for the table covered in gear the night before.

FAQ

Why choose the Ramverk Pro 32L over the 26L?

For one reason: the Large Camera Insert. The 32L is the only Db backpack that takes it. Otherwise the two packs share the same frame, face and carry system; the 32L adds 6 litres and 5 cm of depth for 40 g. If your kit fits a Medium insert, the 26L is the better buy.

Which camera inserts fit the Ramverk Pro 32L, and are they included?

Db lists the Small, Medium and Large inserts as compatible. None comes with the pack: the inserts are sold separately, and Eiken stocks the Medium and the Large. Without one, the 32L is a framed travel backpack that opens like a case.

Can I take the Ramverk Pro 32L on a plane as hand luggage?

Db describes the 32L as carry-on friendly, sized for the overhead bin. At 50 x 31 x 21 cm, depth is the measurement to watch: some airlines, low-cost carriers in particular, set tighter cabin limits than others. Check your ticket's allowance before you fly with a full kit.

Does the Ramverk Pro 32L compress when it is only half full?

No. The Rib Cage frame keeps the 32L at full size whatever is inside, and reviewers note that a rigid pack is harder to fill with awkwardly shaped objects than a soft one. That rigidity is exactly what protects the lenses.

Can I get to my camera while wearing the Ramverk Pro 32L?

Not while it is on your back. The main compartment opens as a full clamshell, so the pack comes off and lies down before a body comes out. If you need a camera at hand while you move, pair it with a sling: the Ramverk Pro Sling Bag 24L takes a Small insert and swings round to the front.

Is the Ramverk Pro 32L waterproof?

It is weather-resistant, not waterproof. Db rates the exterior for light rain and daily wear, enough for a dash across a car park or a drizzle on location. With several thousand euros of gear inside, a long day in heavy rain calls for a dry bag around the bodies.

How do I clean and maintain the Ramverk Pro 32L?

Take the insert out, empty the pockets and shake the grit out of the corners. Wipe the shell with lukewarm water, a little mild soap and a soft cloth. No washing machine, no tumble dryer. Let it dry fully open, away from direct heat, before you pack the kit back in.
