Db Journey Ramverk Camera Insert M - A Full Lens Kit in a Ramverk Pro 26L or 32L (0.82 kg)

Friday evening, a hotel room, a wedding in the morning. You lift the insert out of the backpack by its top handle and take the lid off: the 70-200 lies flat along one side, the 24-70 sits on the body, and a folded drone has a bay of its own. That is the Db Journey Ramverk Camera Insert M, a working kit that moves in one lift.

It is the largest Db camera insert that fits both Ramverk Pro backpacks. In the Ramverk Pro Backpack 26L, it takes the space Db gives to two Small inserts; in the 32L it fits as well. Change bags for a longer trip and the kit does not have to be unpacked and rebuilt: the whole box goes from one pack to the other.

Shell and lining are both 100% recycled polyester, dope-dyed, the same fabric as the Ramverk Pro packs. The insert measures 37 x 29 x 13.5 cm for 15 litres and weighs 0.82 kg empty. The lid is ridged on the outside, lined with zipped mesh pockets on the inside, and comes off entirely when you want every bay open at once.

Who is it for?

Ramverk Pro 26L owners first, since the M is the biggest insert that pack takes. Then 32L owners whose kit is one body for stills and video and a handful of lenses, who would rather carry 280 g less than the Large. Db pitches the Medium at professionals and keen amateurs alike, anyone who needs to travel with a lot of lenses.

A Camera Insert You Set Up Once, Then Stop Thinking About

A camera insert spends most of its life zipped shut inside a backpack. The few minutes it spends open, on a desk or a car seat, are the ones it is judged on.

  • ✔️ Fits the Ramverk Pro 26L and 32L: the largest Db insert that works in both packs, so one kit serves both bags.
  • ✔️ Fully detachable lid: fold it back like a cover or take it off completely, and the whole kit is in view.

At 13.5 cm deep, the M lays long lenses down rather than standing them up. In Db's own photos, a 70-200 f/2.8 rests flat beside an 85 mm and a 24-70. That flat layout is what keeps the insert slim enough for the 26L, and it is the main difference from the Large.

Who This Camera Insert Is For

The M sits between Db's Small and Large inserts, and for a kit built around one camera body it is usually the right size: big enough for the long lens, slim enough for the daily pack.

  • You own the Ramverk Pro 26L and want it to carry a full kit, not just a body and one lens.
  • You own the 32L and shoot hybrid, stills and video on one body, and do not need the depth of the Large.
  • You fly a drone as well, and want it in its own bay next to the lenses rather than in a side pocket.
  • You switch between packs, a 26L for the week and a 32L for trips, and want the kit to move in one lift.
  • You shoot weddings or events and like to check every lens on the desk before the day starts.

Its one limit is depth. For the bulkiest bodies, a Canon 1D X or a cinema rig, Db points to the Ramverk Camera Insert L, which only fits the 32L.

Paired with the Ramverk Pro Backpack 32L or the 26L, the M turns a framed travel pack into a camera backpack in the time it takes to lift it in. Our other camera backpacks sit alongside. Back in the hotel room, the lid goes back on and the kit is ready for the morning.

Db confirms the Ramverk Pro Backpack 26L and 32L. In the 26L, the M takes the place of two Small inserts, and it is the largest insert that pack accepts. It does not go into the Ramverk Pro Sling Bag 24L, which takes only Db's Small insert, a size Eiken does not carry.

If you own the 26L, the Medium is the answer: the Large does not fit it. If you own the 32L, it comes down to your biggest body. A mirrorless camera and a set of lenses sit well in the M, which is 5.5 cm shallower and 280 g lighter. A full-size pro body or a mid-size cinema camera calls for the L.

Not much, and it is worth knowing before a trip. Testing the Ramverk Pro 32L, Amateur Photographer found that the Medium and Large inserts fill most of the main compartment. The pack's top pocket and its separate 16-inch laptop compartment still take the day's essentials, but an overnight bag of clothes and a full camera insert rarely share one backpack.

Db only names the two Ramverk Pro backpacks for the Medium, so those are the only bags we can vouch for. For anything else, compare the insert's outside measurements, 37 x 29 x 13.5 cm, with the inside of your bag before you order.

Db describes cross-body carrying as optional: the insert has a top handle and external loops on its sides to take a strap, but Db does not list a strap with it. Count on the handle, and ask us before ordering if a strap matters to you.

Yes. With its lid zipped on and its top handle, the M is a small camera case in its own right: on a studio shelf, on the back seat of a car, in a hotel wardrobe while the backpack goes out light. When the pack comes back, the insert goes back in without repacking a single lens.

Empty it, lift out the dividers and shake the dust and grit out of the corners, where it finds its way onto lenses. Wipe the outside with lukewarm water, a little mild soap and a soft cloth. No washing machine, no tumble dryer. Let it dry fully open, away from direct heat, before the kit goes back in.
